The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has officially released the complete schedule for the JEE Advanced 2026, the gateway to the prestigious IITs. Aspirants should take notice of the main dates, which begin with the application process and conclude with the examination and final results. The complete application process will be completed online using the official website, jeeadv.ac.in.
Given below are some of the important dates for the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE, Advanced:-

The exam is scheduled for May 17, 2026, and candidates must appear for both papers to be eligible for the merit list.

Paper 1 will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., followed by Paper 2, which will be held from 2:30 to5:50 P.M.

The online registration will start from April 23, 2026 and will conclude on May 2, 2026.

The Foreign National Candidates (OCI) will be able to register for the JEE Advanced exam from April 6, 2026, and the registration will conclude on May 2, 2026.

The admit card will be available for downloading from May 11, 2026, to May 17, 2026.
JEE Advanced 2026: Eligibility Criteria and IIT Counselling
To sit for the JEE Advanced, students must first overcome a significant step, i.e., they must be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates in the JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 (BE or B.Tech), regardless of any category. The competitive selection process ensures that only the most qualified individuals advance to further rounds.

There are also attempt limits: a candidate may take the JEE Advanced exam no more than twice in a row.

The candidate must have taken their Class 12 test for the first time in either 2025 or 2026, with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as their required subjects.

IIT Roorkee will release the candidate response sheets on May 21 and a preliminary answer key on May 25.

To raise any complaints, the candidates will have a limited time, which will be from May 25 to 26. The final answer key and the widely anticipated results will be announced on June 1, 2026, at 10:00 A.M.

Finally, the admission process will begin immediately, with the Joint Seat Allocation Authority, JoSAA, counselling for admission to IITs on June 2, 2026.
