The times are turbulent for the students who aspire to earn a seat in premier engineering colleges in India. With the JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counselling 2026 registration application window closing tomorrow, students who have cleared the JEE Advanced with qualifying scores and eligibility for further counselling have another battle to win - the requirement of minimum 75% marks in the class 12 annual examinations.
Students under the CBSE board have been facing serious issues while applying online for revaluation of their marksheets. The OSM row has opened new floodgates for the entire education system where questions are being raised against the marking technology launched and adopted this academic year. Students who have applied for rechecking and revaluation of their answer copies are yet to hear from the board, during which the deadline to apply for JoSAA counselling might pass by. This has caused a lot of anxiety among the students, as it can halter their applications for pursuing undergraduate courses at institutes like IITs, IISc, etc.
