The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the Stenographer Vacancy official notification for Grade C and Grade D posts. In this recruitment cycle the commission has announced a total of 1170 vacancies across the country. Out of these 149 posts are for Stenographer Grade C while 1021 posts are for Stenographer Grade D. These vacancies will be filled in various ministries and departments under the Central Government. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for these posts and compete for selection based on their eligibility and performance in the SSC examination.

SSC Stenographer 2026 Selection Process
The selection process includes two stages. The first stage is the Computer Based Examination, which tests candidates in general intelligence & reasoning general awareness and English language. It will consist of objective type questions with a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
Candidates who clear the written exam will move on to the skill test in stenography. In this stage a dictation test of 10 minutes will be conducted. The required typing speed is 100 words per minute for Grade C posts and 80 words per minute for Grade D posts.
