University of Liverpool Gets Approval to Open Bengaluru Campus in India Under NEP 2020

The move comes under the vision of the National Education Policy 2020, which aims to make India a stronger global education destination. Bengaluru Campus to Offer Industry Focused Courses
The University of Liverpool Bengaluru campus will offer both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. In the initial phase university is planning to introduce courses in business management, computer science, game design, finance and biomedical sciences. These subjects have strong demand in today’s job market and are likely to attract students looking for globally relevant careers.After receiving the intent letter, the university completed the necessary academic, infrastructure, and regulatory preparations within a year. Following a detailed readiness review and compliance check, the Ministry of Education handed over the final Letter of Approval.

Top Leaders Attend to Attend the Handover Ceremony
The handover ceremony was attended by several prominent leaders from India and the United Kingdom. The letter of approval was handed over by Dr Vineet Joshi, Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and chairman of University Grants Commission to Professor Richard Grose (Provost of the University of Liverpool Bengaluru).
The event was held in the presence of Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar and UK Foreign Secretary Rt Hon Yvette Copper. Other senior dignitaries who attended include Shri Vikram Misri, Foreign Secretary to the Government of India and Ms Lindy Cameron, British High Commissioner to India.The University of Liverpool founded in 1881 in United Kingdom is known for its strong reputation in teaching, research and innovation. Its arrival in Bengaluru, India marks an important step in India’s effort to bring globally respected institutions into the local education system.
