Delhi Government School Class 11 and 12 Students Without Chemistry Teacher For Three Years

Students of a Delhi government school located in Kajuri Khas have alleged that they have not had a single chemistry lesson for the past three academic years. The school has failed to appoint a regular chemistry teacher during this entire period. The shortage has left nearly 200 students from Class 11 and 12 without proper training in one of the core subjects for Science. At present the school has two sections in Classes 11 and 12 in the science stream. Each section has approximately 50 to 55 students. Student Left Without a Chemistry Teacher Despite Repeated Pleas
The students have claimed that they have repeated requests to the school principal. But till now the school authorities have found no resolution. The matter has now reached an advocate who is pushing for urgent action. Advocate Asok Agarawal tweeted about the situation. He said over 200 SKV Khajuri Khas Class 11 and 12 science girl students are still waiting for a chemistry teacher. He warned that the girl students may approach the Delhi High Court if a chemistry teacher is not provided immediately. A representation dated August 20 has been addressed to the Directorate of Education of the Government of NCT of Delhi. The representation has sought urgent intervention over the alleged shortage at GSKV Khajuri Khas.
Board Exams at Risk Without a Chemistry Teacher
The matter is particularly serious because the affected students are now in class 12. They are preparing for their forthcoming board examinations. The prolonged absence of a subject teacher has severely affected their academic preparation. This may have a direct adverse impact on their performance in the board examinations. The situation is entirely beyond their control. The letter has also noted that students have tried to raise their issues through all proper channels. Yet they have not received any help so far. Their repeated representations have not resulted in any effective resolution. The continued non availability of a chemistry teacher raises serious concerns about access to academic instruction. Students must be able to prepare properly for the board examinations.
