The government run Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV) Raipur has cancelled the Bsc Agriculture first year Plant Pathology examination which was held on August 7, 2026. Officials announced the decision on Sunday after an emergency meeting chaired by Vice Chancellor Dr Girish Chandel. Read the article to know further details.
Chains of Events Behind the IGKV Paper Leak
The trouble began with the August 20 leak of the Entomology question paper. Entomology is a second year subject for BSc Agriculture students under IGKV. That leak led to the arrest of a professor and five students from a private college in Durg district. During the probe police discovered that the plat pathology paper held on August 7, 2026 was also leaked. This made the IGKV paper leak a bigger issue than first thought. Bharatiya Agricultural College Durg faces action for failing to protect exam confidentiality. The university has issued a notice to the college. The notice asks the college to explain its failure. Students detained by Raipur Police will face strict disciplinary action. Show cause notices have gone to the observers appointed for the August 20, 2026 Entomology exam and the August 7, 2026 plant pathology exam at the Durg College.
New Security Steps and September Re-Test
Both leaked papers will be conducted in the first week of September. The re-test for the Entomology paper and the Plant Pathology paper are both slated for the same period. This gives students a clear timeline for their next attempt. After the IGKV paper leak the university moved quickly to secure its exam. Question papers for the August 22, 2026 BSc examination went to colleges through password protected email. Physical copies were replaced entirely. Papers for the 10 am examination reached colleges at 9.30 AM. The same procedure will be followed for examination on Monday. Every examination from now on will follow the stricter delivery method. CCTV camera numbers will increase in the university examination department and in examination halls at affiliated colleges. IGKV also plans to use modern technology for better confidentiality, transparency and security. The IGKV paper leak has clearly pushed the university toward a stronger examination system.
