Sido Kanhu Murmu University (SKMU), formerly Siddhu Kanhu University, is located in  Dumka, Jharkhand. It was established in the year 1992 by an Act of the Bihar Legislative Assembly. 

The university was renamed Sido Kanhu Murmu University in 2003. It is named after Sidhu Murmu and Kanhu Murmu, brothers who led the Santhal rebellion against the British in 1855–56. 

The University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
