National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) publishes a report named as ‘ Crime in India’, which highlights a jump from 52,974 cases in 2021 to over 86,000 cases by the end of the latest reporting cycle, underscoring the need for the rapid expansion of digital forensic infrastructure.
The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) have highlighted a significant 24% spike in cyber crime cases in India with financial losses reaching ₹22,495 crore in 2025, scams and Digital Arrests have emerged as the biggest threats.

According to NCRB lated data on Cyber Crimes, certain states have seen an exponential rise in cases, particularly in South India. Karnataka now holds the highest number of registered cyber crime cases in India as per the latest NCRB data.
