School Holiday Tomorrow, August 25, 2026: Heavy monsoon continues in many parts of India, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting heavy rainfall in multiple states. As a result, students and parents are checking whether schools will remain closed on Tuesday, August 25.

At present, there is no school holiday announcement due to rain. School holidays in weather-affected areas are generally decided by state governments, district administrations or individual schools depending on rainfall intensity, flooding, waterlogging, landslides and road conditions.

Odisha School Holiday August 25, 2026

In Odisha, schools have been ordered to remain closed in Nabarangpur district, while 89 schools in vulnerable areas of Bhadrak district will also remain shut amid heavy rainfall and flooding. The decision was taken as the state continues to receive intense rainfall, with the IMD forecasting heavy rain in several districts until August 26.

Other districts including Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Bargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha and Nayagarh were also under rainfall/thunderstorm watch. Odisha also observes Eid-e-Milad as a holiday on August 25, according to the state's holiday calendar.

West Bengal School Holiday August 25

West Bengal is experiencing active monsoon conditions, with heavy rainfall expected across parts of the state. On August 24, the weather department warned of particularly intense rainfall in East Midnapore and South 24 Parganas, while Jhargram and Purulia were also under heavy-rain watch.

North Bengal districts are also expected to receive rain, although the intensity can vary by location.

Uttarakhand School Holiday Update

Uttarakhand continues to face weather-related risks because of heavy rainfall in hilly areas. Persistent rain can lead to landslides, road blockages and disruption of transport.

Students in vulnerable districts should check local administration orders before heading to school. A statewide closure should not be assumed solely because of an IMD warning.

Himachal Pradesh School Holiday Update

Himachal Pradesh has also been affected by monsoon rainfall and associated road and landslide concerns. School operations can be affected if roads become unsafe or local authorities issue closure orders.

Bihar and Jharkhand School Holiday Update

Heavy rainfall is also expected in parts of Bihar and Jharkhand as monsoon activity continues over eastern India. Rainfall can cause waterlogging and disruption of transport in low-lying areas.

There is no confirmed rain-related school holiday based on the latest information available. District-level authorities can make separate decisions depending on local conditions.

Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh School Holiday Update

Parts of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh remain under the influence of active monsoon conditions. Heavy rain has already caused waterlogging in some locations, including Raipur, where intense rainfall disrupted roads and residential areas.

Kerala School Holiday August 25

Kerala is also among the states receiving significant monsoon rainfall. Districts including Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam and Thrissur were under a yellow rainfall alert in the latest available state-wise update.

In addition to weather-related updates, August 25 is a holiday in Kerala for First Onam/Milad-i-Sherif, according to the holiday calendar. Students should check their school's holiday calendar because institutional schedules can vary.

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana School Holiday Update

A low-pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining regions has increased rainfall activity over Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The IMD has warned of heavy rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds in parts of both states.

North Andhra may experience particularly intense rainfall. Schools in affected districts could receive local instructions if weather conditions become unsafe. Heavy rain in hilly and landslide-prone areas can disrupt roads and school transport. Students should monitor district-level advisories before travelling.

Delhi-NCR School Holiday Update

There is no confirmed rain-related school holiday for Delhi on August 25. Schools and local authorities may issue separate instructions depending on weather and road conditions.

Will Schools Be Closed Tomorrow Due to Heavy Rain?

An IMD warning does not result in a school holiday. Holiday decisions are made by the relevant state government, district administration or school authorities.

In areas where roads are flooded, rivers are overflowing or landslides threaten transportation, authorities can announce a holiday or suspend physical classes for safety reasons. Students should therefore wait for an official school or district notification rather than relying on social media posts.

August 25 School Holiday: Festival Holidays Also Applicable

Apart from weather-related closures, several states have a scheduled holiday on August 25 for Eid-e-Milad/Milad-i-Sherif.
