Parliamentary Standing Committee Meeting Today over CBT or Pen and Paper in NEET, CBSE Portal Hacking
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth & Sports has scheduled high-level review meetings for June 1 and 2, 2026, summoning the Director General of the NTA and the Chairman of the CBSE.
The parliamentary Education Committee has summoned the NTA Director General and CBSE Chairman for meetings on June 1 and 2, 2026. This follows widespread criticism over the NEET-UG 2026 cancellation due to paper leak allegations and technical failures, including the shutdown of the CBSE re-evaluation portal. Led by the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth & Sports, the sessions aim to review structural issues, investigate what went wrong at the NTA and CBSE, and develop solutions to ensure future exam integrity.
Focus on NEET Crisis and Testing Formats (June 1)
This is part of a review by the parliament. They will be talking about how to make national-level entrance exams better. The people in charge of the Department of Higher Education the Department of Health and Family Welfare and the NTA will meet with the panel. Some important people from the field like those from the United Doctors Front and Dr. Gulshan Garg will also be there to share their thoughts.
The main thing they want to discuss is whether pen-and-paper tests or Computer-Based Tests are better for NEET. They also want to hear about the problems people are facing with NEET and the NTA.
Scrutiny of CBSE ‘On-Screen Marking’ and Portal Vulnerabilities (June 2)
On June 2 the parliament will look at how the CBSE's doing things. They will talk to the person in charge of the Department of School Education and the Chairman of CBSE about the way of marking exams on the computer. This is because a lot of students had problems with this system when they took their Grade 12 CBSE exams. There was also a problem with the CBSE website. Someone did a thing and hacked into the system, which allowed some students to get into the website without permission. This caused a lot of problems, with payments with some people paying little or a lot of money.
CBSE has decided to wait until June 1 2026 to open their Post-Result Activities portal again. They want to make sure everything is working properly and securely. The panel will ask the CBSE to make sure that people are not cheating with their system. They will also talk about whether students should be learning three languages in Classes 9 and 10.
