Kerala Elections 2026 Results have been announced on May 4, 2026. The UDF is set to form government with 102 seats, reducing the LDF to a meagre opposition with 35 seats.

Kerala Elections 2026: After a decade under the Left Democratic Front (LDF), the people of Kerala have now chosen for themselves a new government. The state has jumped back to its "We remove the part in power"democracy by choosing to the UDF to take over. 

Elections in Kerala (Keralam) were held on April 9, in a single-phase election across all 140 constituencies. Today, the fate of 883 candidates across 14 districts will be decided as the state looks to see who will cross the 71-seat majority mark.

Kerala Election Result 2026: Major Alliances and Key Parties

The political landscape of Kerala remains a three-way contest between these established coalitions:

  • Left Democratic Front (LDF): Led by the CPI(M) and CPI. It includes the Kerala Congress (M), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), and various smaller secular and socialist factions.

  • United Democratic Front (UDF): Led by the Indian National Congress (INC). Its major partners are the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), the Kerala Congress (Joseph), and the Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP).

  • National Democratic Alliance (NDA): Led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Bharath Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS).
