The victory in the Assembly Elections 2026 is a historic win as the BJP-led NDA alliance surpassed the 64-seat majority mark in the 126-member assembly. The BJP secured 82 seats, while its allies Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) won 10 seats and Bodoland People's Front (BOPF) won 10 seats.
On the contrary, Congress secured 19 seats. Among others, the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) and Raijor Dal (RJRD) secured 2 seats each, and All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) secured 1 seat.

BJP's Hitendra Nath Goswami defeated the Congress State President and sitting MP Gaurav Gogoi in Jorhat, with a margin of 23,182 votes. Goswami secured 69,439 votes.
From the newly formed Guwahati Central, BJP's Vijay Kumar Gupta won by 61,921 margin votes after securing 1,01,297 votes while defeating Assam Jatiya Parishad's Kunki Chowdhury.
With 84,862 votes, BJP's Pallab Lochan Das from Biswanath defeated INC's Jayanta Borah by 25,770 votes.

The Indian National Congress (INC)'s Bidisha Neog lost from Jalukbari by a margin of 89,434 votes against BJP's Himanta Biswa Sarma. Neog secured 37,717 votes.
