Justin Sato Stanford Admission: A Linkedin post by a student went viral after he shared that he had secured admission to top universities including Stanford, Caltech and Princeton despite scoring 53 out of 360 marks in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).

Student Success Journey: A student on Linkedin shared how he cracked some of the best universities in the world including Stanford despite achieving a low score in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). Justin Sato, in his post, claimed that he got into three universities, namely, Caltech, Princeton, and Stanford with Physics as a subject. JEE is a highly competitive national-level examination, held in India for admission into undergraduate engineering, architecture, and planning degrees. This year, more than 10 lakh applicants registered for the exam in each of the sessions conducted.

15% Marks In Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)

Sato said that he had secured only 15 per cent in the JEE examination, equivalent to 53 out of 360 marks. He also mentioned the low acceptance rate of Indian Institute of Technologies (IITs) being below 1 per cent.

“Got into Caltech, Princeton, and Stanford for physics. Yet I got 15% on the JEE exam. (53 / 360 ). If you know, you know. IIT acceptance rates are sub 1%.” the post by Sato read.

Sato further mentioned that India has a ridiculous amount of technical talent and because of which, their startup is moving to India. He added that top companies like Google, Microsoft are run by Indian-born talent.

“But it taught me something Silicon Valley still hasn't figured out: the density of technical talent in India is absurd. So that’s why our startup is moving to India. Google, Microsoft, Micron, Skarmy, Mastercard, all run by Indian-born talent.” Sato added.

According to his Linkedin profile, Justin Sato is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Physics at Stanford University, California. His subjects include Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science (CS). Prior to this, he studied at the California State University, Dominguez Hills, where he studied subjects like General Physics, Complex Analysis, Quantum Mechanics and Multivariable Calculus. His profile also mentions that he is the Co-founder of Skarmy, a software development company in San Francisco, US.

Sato’s journey from low scores in the highly competitive JEE examination to securing seats in some of the top global universities shows his hard work and determination.
