CBSE class 10 Result 2026 for the second board along with the final result for all students will be released shortly on the official website cbse.gov.in. Along with the result, the board will also release the passing certificate and marksheet, but a combined document this year. Check what it is and what to expect.
Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE 10th Result 2026 will be released soon for the May or Second Board Examination. As per the information, CBSE Result may be released today - June 30, 2026 (tentatively by 4 pm).
Along with the result for the students who have appeared for the second board examination, CBSE will also release the passing certificate as well as the marksheet for all the Class 10 students. Instead of two separate documents, the board will release a combined marksheet and passing certificate. Here is a quick look at what these documents are and why they are being combined.
CBSE Result Documents - Passing Certificate and Marksheet Decoded
A passing certificate is a document which essentially lists the subject the student has appeared for and have secured a qualifying grade. This is an important document and is required everywhere for academic qualification and validation. Class 10 passing certificate is also used as a birth certificate adjacent in multiple legal documentation - making it a crucial document for everyone.
As for the marksheet - the document is exactly what it says it is. It is a simplet statement of marks scored by the students listed subject wise. Simply put, say a student has appeared for five subjects, the marksheet will have the name of the subject the student has appeared for along with the marks obtained by the student in that subject. The board marksheet further gives the break up of the marks scored by the student in theory as well as practical/ internal examination.
Earlier, CBSE used to isse two separate documents after the declaration of results. However, since the past few years, the board has decided to release a single document which now works as both a mark sheet as well as the passing certificate. This was done largely to consolidate the documentation framework within the digital repository systems introduced.
This single document will be released for all the student in digital format on DigiLocker once the results are declared. The board will also release and send the physical document (printed copy) to the respective schools, from where they would then be distributed to the students.
Students and parents are advised to note that this document is essential for all future academic purposes. The Class 10 marksheet cum passing certificate is particularly important for passport as well as further admission to senior secondary schools as well as higher education institutions. Both digital certificates (as available on DogoLocker) as well as printed documents (sent by the board) are valid and interchangeable. However, it is prudent to collect the original document from the school for safekeeping.
CBSE Passing Certificate cum Marksheet: What all it contains
The document will contain
- The marks obtained by the student
- Personal information including name of the school, parent/ guardian name, date of birth and other information like the school name, board roll number, school code, etc.
- Board’s seal and signature of the signatory confirming the validity of the certificate
- Details like grading system followed by the board
- Final result - Pass/ Fail for the student
Apart from this, CBSE also issues Migration Certificate, if requested, by the student. The same would also be made available on DigiLocker. Beyond these three documents, CBSE does not issue any other certificates.
In case of re-evaluation of result and subsequent change, if any, the documents already issued must be returned to the board. Once these are returned, only then does the board re-issue the revised certificates.
Students and parents may keep a check on the official website and download the documents when made available. CBSE releases the digital copy alongside the result. The physical copies are usually sent to the school within a week of the declaration of result.
