In Mumbai, amid heavy rainfall students and parents are concerned that the schools will remain closed or not? The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert due to very heavy rainfall. As the rain has been falling since last night with strong and gusty winds along with dangerous thunderstorms, there’s a high chance of waterlogging on the roads and streets of Mumbai. Which may result in traffic jams, and accidents.  

Travelling on the roads has become a task for many of them. Students and parents are concerned about how to send their children to schools and colleges. The official announcement is still pending  from government officials regarding the school closures. 

Which School Zones Face the Highest Risk of Closure During Monsoon

Mumbai is experiencing very heavy rains, especially in western areas like Kandivali, Malad, and Santacruz. This has led to heavy flooding on the roads, which is risky. It is very important and advised to stop unnecessary movements and to avoid any uncertainty and listen to local safety updates. Officials are working hard to make sure everyone stays safe, so please keep an eye out for news about your school. 

Speaking on the situation, a BMC official, Rhitik, said that civic authorities were yet to find a temporary solution for the severe waterlogging at the site. 

"We have not been able to find a temporary solution for this severe waterlogging. Our officers keep standing here to ensure vehicles don't pass through. But some rickshaw drivers still try to get their vehicles across. A rickshaw got stuck here in the centre of the subway. The driver's life was in danger. Two of our officers helped bring him out," he told the news agency ANI.
