The Karnataka State Police Department has released the official job notification for the Karnataka Police Exam 2026 for the Residual Cadre for direct recruitment and in-service recruitment. The online registration for the submission of applications for the Karnataka Police Civil Constable will close on July 3, 2026. The Karnataka Police (Civil) Constable Exam will be conducted on August 2, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Any interested candidate can apply online for the Karnataka Police (Civil) Constable Exam 2026 by July 3, 2026.
To qualify for the Karnataka Police (Civil) Constable Exam 2026 offline exam, the candidate must align their preparation with the official exam pattern and the syllabus.
Karnataka Police Civil Constable 2026 Exam Pattern
The written exam is an important part of the selection process. The written exam will be conducted in offline-OMR mode. The written exam will be held at different selected exam centres spread across the state. Candidates must download their admit card from the official website and carry it with them along with the original ID card, like an Aadhaar Card. Candidates will not be allowed to enter the exam hall without the Admit Card. Given below is the exam pattern of the Karnataka Police Civil Constable 2026 Exam:-

The General studies will include topics like General Knowledge, Science, Geography, History, Constitution of India, National Freedom Movement, Mental Ability, and Ethics or Moral Education. To clear the exam, candidates must score a minimum of 30 marks in the exam. The exam will have objective question and for every wrong answer marked by the candidate, 0.25 marks will be deducted. No marks will be given for an unanswered question. When the candidate clears the written exam, they will move to the next stage, which includes the Endurance Test and Physical Standard Test. Given below is the criteria for the Physical Standard Test:-

The endurance test is qualifying in nature, and no marks will be given. For male and In-service male candidates, they should be able to do the following:-
- Run 1600 meters within 6 minutes and 30 seconds
- Should be able to high jump from 1.20 meters and should be able to long jump for a distance of 3.80 meters. Candidates will be given only 3 chances.
- Candidates should be able to throw a shot put of 7.26 Kg from a distance of 5.60 metres. Candidates will be given only 3 chances.
For female, transgender and Ex-servicemen candidates, they should be able to do the following:-
- Run 400 meter within 2 minutes.
- Should be able to high jump from 0.90 meters and should be able to long jump for a distance of 2.50 meters. Candidates will be given only 3 chances.
- Candidates should be able to throw a shot put of 4 Kg from a distance of 3.75 metres. Candidates will be given only 3 chances.
Karnataka Police Civil Constable 2026 Syllabus
The syllabus of the Karnataka Police Civil Constable includes only one subject, which is General Studies. The subject General Studies will include various topics. A total of 100 questions will be asked from these topics in the offline exam of the Karnataka Police Civil Constable 2026 exam.
