Gates to exam centres for the NEET UG 2026 re-exam have officially closed. Candidates reporting to the centre after the said time will not be allowed to enter the exam hall or sit for the exam. The exams are set to commene at 2 PM. 

Students arrived at examination centres for the NEET re-examination in Bikaner, Rajasthan. Entry into the exam hall is permitted only after thorough security screening and identity verification. Gates close at 1:30 PM

The NEET 2026 re-examination is set to commence at 2 PM. Candidates must note that they need to reach the exam centres before 1:30 PM. The exam centre gates will close at 1:30 PM. Students reporting to the centre after the reporting time will not be allowed to enter the centre or appear for the exam.

Speaking to the media in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, a NEET aspirant set to appear for the exam today says that last time preparation was stronger, but now there is no idea of how tough the NEET paper will be. Previously, the paper was easier, but this time it’s uncertain how it will turn out. The exam is set to commence at 2 PM at all the exam centres. Security has tightened as the NEET‑UG 2026 re‑examination is being conducted under special restrictions, with Section 163 of the BNSS imposed within a 200‑metre radius of all examination centres here to ensure strict security measures in Dehradun. 

The National Testing Agency is conducting the NEET UG 2026 re-exam for 22.8 lakh students at 5,440 centres today, following the cancellation of the exam held on May 3 due to a leaked 'guess paper' matching 120 questions. Security includes GPS-tracked papers, airlifts by the Indian Air Force, biometrics, AI-monitored CCTV, signal jammers, and 200,000 personnel on duty. As NEET-UG examinations are underway across the country, thousands of students have arrived at the examination centres amid tight security arrangements and strict monitoring measures in Srinagar.

The question papers for NEET UG Re-exam have been transported to the centres amidst tight security. CISF personnel, Surat Police and Administrative teams have coordinated the entire movement from the strong room to various centres, maintaining complete safety and confidentiality, as per media reports. Surat Collector Tejas Parmar highlighted the detailed security measures put in place to conduct the examination smoothly and transparently for all candidates.

Authorities in Noida conducted inspections at examination centres, including Bhawani Shankar Inter College in Sector 46, where CCTV cameras and jammers were installed to prevent malpractice. Joint Commissioner of Police Rajiv Narayan Mishra has stated that NEET will be conducted across 23 centres in Gautam Buddha Nagar district, and Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been enforced to maintain law and order.

In a bid to curb malpractice, the Education Ministry and the National Testing Agency have decided to conduct the NEET UG examinations in the online mode from next year onwards. During the press conference conducted announcing the cancellation of the NEET UG 2026 exams and the rescheduled exam on June 21, Education Minister announced the decision to conduct the exams in the online mode from next year onwards.

As per experts, the difficulty level of the exam was easy to moderate overall. Biology (Botany & Zoology) was regarded as the easiest and most scoring section. Chemistry ranged from moderate to tough, offering a balanced mix of theory and application. Physics was considered the toughest and most time-consuming section. Students stressed for the re-exam are advised to keep their calm and try to focus on the topics already covered and revise. Students must make sure they attempt questions they are confident about and come back to tougher questions later. With the extra 15 minutes, students can now focus on question and sections difficult for them.

Bank officials have been deployed at approximately 1,500 bank branches holding the confidential material, and the Department of Posts will coordinate its teams for the collection of OMR sheets at around 700 collection centres across the country. Review meetings have also been held with the Chief Secretaries and senior officials of all States, and districts have confirmed centre arrangements.

National Testing Agency (NTA) mandates a strict dress code to ensure smooth frisking and fairness. The following guidelines have been issued by the NTA for the smooth conduct of the exam

Candidates are permitted to wear articles or objects of faith (including religious symbols, kalawas, turbans, hijabs, or similar items), subject to reporting at the examination centre well in advance to facilitate thorough frisking by examination staff.

While light clothing is preferred, candidates may wear full-sleeve garments or woollen garments if required, subject to reporting to the centre well in advance to enable thorough frisking.

Slippers and low-heeled footwear are the preferred category of footwear.

Candidates wearing high-heeled footwear may be subjected to additional checks.

Candidates are strictly prohibited from carrying any electronic devices, including mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth accessories, earphones, or any communication device, inside the examination hall.

Metallic items, large belt buckles, heavy jewellery, and accessories are not permitted inside the examination hall.

All candidates will be subject to mandatory frisking before entry.

Candidates are advised to report to the centre at the scheduled reporting time to facilitate smooth security checks without undue stress.

To ensure that students find travel to centres hassle-free and to reduce the stress of travelling, various state governments have announced free travel and waived travel fees for students travelling to the centres. States like Delhi, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Bihar, and Andhra Pradesh have waived off travel fare on state transport buses for students for today. Students can just show their re-exam admit cards to avail the free travel to the centre. The Uttar Pradesh state government also announced a 50% fare concession on the UPSCRTC buses for NEET students.

Various security measures have been taken to ensure that the re-NEET exam is conducted in a foolproof manner. The Indian Air Force was recruited to transport the question papers to the Nodal Centres. Special security arrangements are also in place at various centres in the country. Police personnel have been guarding exam centres from the eve of the examination, ensuring no breach. Question papers have also been placed under tight security to ensure the sanctity of the exam. The exam is being held under strict surveillance. A total of 1,38,560 CCTV cameras have been installed, with feeds monitored virtually at the National, State and Ministry levels. To secure the examination against electronic malpractice, 51,311 jammers have been deployed

NTA has revised the NEET UG 2026 re-exam timings. While earlier, the exams were held for a duration of three hours from 2 PM to 5 PM, for the re-exam, NTA has added an extra 15 minutes. Candidates will be appearing for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination from 2 PM to 5:15 PM. The timing applies to all. Students must ensure that the same is also mentioned on their admit cards. NEET (UG)-2026 Re-Examination will be conducted in Dubai and Sharjah, UAE, today, June 21, 2026. The exams will be held at The Indian High School, Dubai and Sharjah Indian School, Sharjah. Candidates appearing for the NEET entrance centres are advised to download their Admit Cards and carry the required photographs and valid ID proof, and report well in time. The timing of the examination in the UAE is 12:30 pm to 03:45 pm (U.A.E Time). The main entrance gate of the examination centre will be opened at 09:30 am (U.A.E. time). Re-NEET 2026 is being conducted at 5,440 centres in 551 cities in India and 14 centres abroad. The examination is being held in more than 95,000 examination rooms, each equipped with CCTV. A total of 1,38,560 CCTV cameras have been installed, with feeds monitored virtually at the National, State and Ministry levels. To secure the examination against electronic malpractice, 51,311 jammers have been deployed. Each of the more than 95,000 examination rooms will have two invigilators, and every centre is staffed with more than ten additional examination functionaries.

The Re-NEET UG 2026 examination is being conducted across all designated exam centres today, June 21, 2026. To ensure that no leaks happen, this time, the NTA and the education ministry roped in the Indian Air Force to transport the question papers to the nodal centres and the designated exam centres. The police and officials have been providing tight security to all the exam centres to ensue no breach happens and the exam is conducted smoothly.
