Maharashtra TET 2026 Paper Leak Row: Three more people have been detained in the Maharashtra Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) 2026 paper leak case. The total number has reached to seven in custody.
Three accused, namely, Sonu Singh, Mithun Singh and Kapil Dahiya have been apprehended by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by Maharashtra State. Alleged mastermind behind the case, Bijendra Gupta, is still evading.
According to resources, Kapil Dahiya was arrested from Pathankot, Mithun Singh from Bihar and Sonu Singh was apprehended in Hajipur.
According to SIT, the racket was spread across four states, i.e. Delhi, Agra, Bihar, and Haryana. Sonu Singh was allegedly preparing forged documents for Bijendra Gupta and was closely related to him in the paper leak racket. The police believes that the leaked papers were being printed in facilities which are linked to Sonu.
Maharashtra police has expanded its probe to various states and and has already made several arrests including the wife of Bijendra Gupta, Suman whose call records and financial transactions linked her to him.
Maharashtra TET 2026 Exam Postponement
The Maharashtra TET exam 2026 was postponed a day before the exam, after the suspected paper leak. According to the officials, the exam was postponed to ensure transparency.
More than 6 lakh candidates have been affected after the postponement of the Teacher Eligiblity Test in Maharashtra. Police believes that it is a larger network operating through the country and has possible links to other similar scams.
Revised Maharahstra TET Exam Date 2026
The new Maharashtra TET exam date 2026 is expected to be released soon on the official portal. The exact date is yet to be announced by the officials. MAHA TET exam determines the eligibility of the candidate for teaching posts in primary and upper primary schools across the Maharashtra. To qualift the MAHA TET is mandatory to apply for teacher posts in government and aided schools.
