ICAI Issues Important Notification, Final Exams Twice a Year, Intermediate May 2026 Exam Rescheduled

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has issued two important notifications regarding the upcoming May 2026 Session examinations. As per the notification issued, the Chartered Accountants Final Examination will be held twice a year from the May 2026 Examination onwards. The Chartered Accountant Intermediate Examination has been rescheduled across India and abroad, and the examination will now commence from 5th May 2026 instead of 3rd May 2026. Timings to remain the same from  2 PM to 5 PM.

ICAI CA Final Exams to be Held Twice a Year

According to the official notification issued, the CA final examinations are being conducted thrice a year, i.e in January, May and September each year. Considering the feedback from stakeholders, however, the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has decided that the CA Final exams will now be conducted twice a year in May and November, with effect from the May 2026 CA examination onwards.

CA May 2026 Intermediate Exam Rescheduled

The Chartered Accountant Intermediate Examination has also been rescheduled across India and abroad. The exams will now commence from 5th May 2026 instead of the earlier schedule of 3rd May 2026. The timings will, however, remain the same from 2 PM to 5 PM.

It must however be noted that the schedule for the Foundation and Final Examinations and PQC shall remain unchanged. There will be no change in the schedule of the other exams.
