Following the announcement of the Class 10, SSC, results on May 6, 2026, where an overall pass percentage of 83.86% was recorded, the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, GSEB, has unveiled a flexible improvement policy. The board is offering a Best of Two opportunity for students during the June 2026 Supplementary Examination, aimed at those who wish to enhance their academic standing or clear failed subjects.
GSEB Class 10 Results: Understanding the ‘Best of Two’ Policy
Under this new guideline, students can choose to appear for the supplementary exams in any or all subjects. The unique Best of Two feature ensures that the higher score between the original March main exam and the June supplementary exam will be reflected in the final mark sheet. This allows students who secured passing grades but are dissatisfied with their scores to attempt an improvement without the risk of losing their previous marks.
The policy is particularly important for students receiving E1 or E2 grades, as these candidates must improve their performance to meet the minimum qualifying criteria, Grade D or the SSC Certificate. While the standard passing mark is 33%, the board has provided a relaxation for differently-abled candidates, who require only 20% to pass.
GSEB Class 10 Results: Application and Subject Coverage
The improvement option spans all major languages, core subjects like Mathematics, Standard and Basic, Science, and Social Science, as well as several vocational courses. Board data suggests that over 32,000 students are eligible for this improvement round. Schools across Gujarat will soon issue detailed circulars and registration links for the June session, providing a streamlined path for students to bolster their academic records.
