Galgotias University Secures ₹42 Lakh IIT Bombay Grant for Intelligent Ripeness Detection

Galgotias University: Priyanshu Dixit, an alumnus of Galgotias University, was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the esteemed 3 Sikh Regiment of the Indian Army, marking a significant milestone in the university's heritage of distinction. After a demanding training period at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) Chennai, which culminated in the passing out parade on March 7, 2026, the commissioning took place. 

Dixit's path, as a graduate of the School of Basic and Applied Sciences (SBAS), is evidence of the university's disciplined atmosphere. He was a member of the 40 UP BN NCC Batch of 2020 and had the highest cadet rank possible, Senior Under Officer (SUO). He was well-known among his peers for being a passionate fitness fan and an innate leader who constantly struck a balance between the tough physical and academic requirements.

Inspired by the great Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, Dixit's desire to serve the country was fostered by years of tireless labor and his parents' steadfast support. His enthusiastic involvement in multiple NCC leadership camps and demanding field exercises, which sharpened the "officer-like qualities" necessary for the armed forces, cleared the way for his ascent to the officer cadre. By enlisting in the 3 Sikh Regiment, Lieutenant Priyanshu Dixit not only realizes a lifelong ambition but also acts as an inspiration to current Galgotias University students, proving that a campus cadet can become a commissioned national defender through unwavering dedication to a greater cause.
