Delayed CBSE 10th Result 2026 for 2nd Board Exam Raises Concerns as Academic Sessions Resume Soon
CBSE Class 10 2nd Board Examination result is expected in the month of June. With academic sessions set to resume soon as summer vacations end, schools are getting worried about the delays and how it is impacting the planning for Class 11 admissions and classes.
Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE Class 10 Board Result 2026 for the May second board examinations is awaited. The board has not shared any tentative date for the release of the same. This has increased concerns for schools that are no gearing up for resuming the academic session as summer vacations come to an end around the country.
Over 6 lakh students have reportedly appeared for the Class 10 board examination conducted by CBSE in the month of May this year. What is important to understand here is that it is not only the result of these 6 lakh+ students but also the official marksheet of all Class 10 students who have appeared for the Class 10 board exams this year. Schools are now concerned that the delay in the declaration of results is going to hamper the academic session, which is already curtailed due to various reasons.
CBSE Board Exams and Class 11 Admissions
Class 11 admissions for CBSE schools are completely dependent on Board Examinations for Class 10. The process begins immediately after the declaration of the results, which used to be in the month of May till last year. With the introduction of two board examinations, the board now releases the result in April for first board and is expected to release the final results for all in June.
The board has clarified that admission can be taken on the basis of the result of the first board examination using the provisional marksheet released at the time, even if the official marksheet will be released only with final results in June. The concerns, however, remain with the paperwork as well as for the students who have taken the second board exam to improve their scores.
“Many students have taken the Mathematics class 10 board examination again this year to improve their scores. Schools have to wait and honour the time, but it creates a temporary administrative freeze. Without the actual number of students, a lot of work like assigning teachers, making time tables and planning for the academic year remains a concern,” said Ms Reema Rai, Chairperson, Satyug Darshan Vidyalaya.
Another senior coordinator of a top school in Noida shared similar concerns, saying that as many as thirty students from their Class 10 batch have not been able to attend any of the classes due to their second board examination.
“Two-board formula is good. It provides students with the right opportunity that helps them look at the exams in a productive manner. However, what is important to understand is that this has effectively reduced about twenty to thirty days from the teaching days of an academic year. People do no realize but twenty teaching days are crucial, given that the syllabus for Class 11 has not been reduced,” shared Ms. Parul Khurana, Principal, Euro International School.
“To give perspective, let us consider a Class 11 student who has opted for Accountancy as a subject, which is a completely new subject. When we plan the academic year and lesson plans, every chapter is divided into periods of teaching. Removing seven to eight periods would set back a complete chapter. So, yes, delay in results is not just about waiting for students. It adds more pressure on schools to accommodate the large syllabus,” she added.
Administrators also point out that registrations for class 11 start in August- September as per the new academic calendar being followed by the board. “Academic calendars are being squeezed out, but syllabus and learning requirements are increasing. The balance has to be maintained,” shared Ms. Rai.
CBSE 10th Board Result Date – No Official Announcement
Meanwhile, the central board has not shared any official date for the declaration of the Class 10 results. Delay was also suspected due to the ongoing issues related to the Class 12 re-evaluation process. People privy to the workings of the board have shared that many considerations had to be given before the final declaration. More so, the marks verification and re-evaluation process for the entire Class 10 result (for students who have appeared in either or both exams) will begin after the result declaration. The board, it was hinted, wanted to complete the Class 12 re-evaluation process before they release Class 10 results.
With the re-evaluation results for most of the Class 12 students now released, it is expected that CBSE 10th result may be released soon. Media reports suggest that the results may be released within this week, with a high probability of results being released today (June 25).
