IndiaSkills National Competition 2025-26 is an initiative to empower India’s Youth through excellence,  making India the "Skill Capital of the World". The IndiaSkills National Competition 2025-26 officially commenced with a vibrant opening ceremony at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, bringing together over 650 of the country's most talented youth to compete across 63 skill categories.

IndianSkills National Competition 2025-26 is organized under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) in collaboration with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). The initiative is  initiative aime to promot excellence in skills and building a future-ready workforce aligned with global standards.

IndiaSkills National Competition 2025-26: The Gateway to Global Recognition

The contest is a celebration of craftsmanship, innovation, and the relentless spirit of Indian youth with over 3.65 lakh registrations narrowing down to the top 650+ finalists and it will finalise the champions who will carry the Indian flag to the global stage at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026.

The 2025-26 edition of IndiaSkills stands out for its massive scale and inclusivity, participants from 36 States and Union Territories  have converged in Greater Noida. These competitors represent the "best of the best" in their respective fields, ranging from traditional trades to high-tech digital skills.

Bridging the Gap Between Education and Industry

The competition is designed to benchmark Indian talent according to the international standards by  focusing on 63 distinct skill categories.

The event ensures the Indian workforce remains future-ready and aligns with India’s vision of Viksit Bharat. . 

 Key Highlights of the Summit:

The IndiaSkills National Competition is more than just a multi-day event; it is a structured ecosystem involving over 200 industry partners and 

  • Diverse Skill Categories: A total of 63 skill categories are being contested. These include: Traditional Trades, Emerging Technologies, Service Excellence, and Onsite vs. offsite Execution. 

    • Onsite vs. Offsite Execution includes a  comprehensive evaluation, 43 skills are being conducted live onsite at Greater Noida, while 20 specialized skills are being assessed at industry-specific hubs across the country.

  • The Road to Shanghai 2026: This competition serves as the final selection ground for WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, often referred to as the "Olympics of Skills."

  • Industry Integration: Leading giants like Toyota Kirloskar, Maruti Suzuki, and various Sector Skill Councils are actively involved in judging and setting the standards, ensuring the skills are relevant to the modern job market.

  • MassParticipation: the competition has record-breaking 3.65 lakh registrations via the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH). 

Significance: 

The IndiaSkills competition reinforces the government's commitment to Skill India and Atmanirbhar Bharat by fostering a culture of "lifelong learning" and "pride in craftsmanship," the MSDE is creating a pipeline of talent that is not just employable but globally competitive. 

As the competition continues until April 2, 2026, the focus remains on precision, creativity, and efficiency, the three pillars that will define India's industrial future.
