Just Room Enough Island is regarded as the smallest inhabited island in the world. The island is situated in New York’s Thousand Islands region and has an area of only 3,300 square feet (310 square meters). It is so small that only a house and a tree can be seen in the entire island.

Just Room Enough Island measures 3,300 square feet (310 square meters). There is barely any room left for anyone to stand outside the house properly due to its extremely small size. It is still a favorite place for tourists cruising by boat on the US-Canada border.

Bishop Rock ( Previously the Smallest Island in the World)

Before Just Room Enough Island was recognised as the smallest island in the world, the Guinness Book of Records listed Bishop Rock as the world's smallest island. Located in the Isles of Scilly off the southwestern coast of Great Britain, this tiny skerry covers roughly 6,400 square feet (600 square meters) and it has a lighthouse covering the entire island. 

However, Bishop Rock lost its title as the smallest inhabited island in December 1992 the lighthouse was fully automated that year, removing the need for a human lighthouse keeper and officially leaving the island uninhabited.

Just Room Enough Island is situated in the Saint Lawrence River, part of the Thousand Islands. The island is situated within Alexandria Bay, New York, which happens to be very near to the border between the United States and Canada.

Since it is a privately owned island no guest can, however tourists can easily see and take pictures of this island while crossing the area.
