Jan Samarth Portal is a national portal for Credit-Linked Government Schemes. It is launched to promote ‘Minimum Government Maximum Governance’ by connecting the citizens digitally with leaders. It provides the timely access, transparent, paperless and affordable credit of government subsidies and bank loans under the single window. 

The Jan Samarth Portal has integrated over the 15 central government schemes and 250+ financial institutions by simplifying the process of seeking financial assistance for students, farmers and entrepreneurs.

Jan Samarth portal has processed more than 41.41 lakh loan applications amounting to ₹1,06,306 crore since its launch in 2022 with banks granting digital approvals to over 35 lakh beneficiaries worth ₹84,365.55 crore, according to official data released by the Ministry of Finance.

  • Vast Lender Network: Integrated with 254 Member Lending Institutions, including all 12 Public Sector Banks, 20 Private Sectors Banks,28 regional rural banks, 173 district central cooperative banks, 15 non-banking financial companies and six small finance banks.

  • Multi-lingual Support: Available in 8 different languages to ensure inclusivity across India's diverse population.

The Jan Samarth Portal is a digital platform To provide a single-window digital platform for credit-linked government schemes, ensuring "Minimum Government, Maximum Governance.

It was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 6, 2022 under the  Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

Its primary objective is to improve the lives of citizens by providing easy business transactions and accessible education. Jan Samarth allows users to first check their eligibility across multiple schemes simultaneously. Once eligible, the portal facilitates a direct connection to the bank of the user's choice for "In-principle" approval.

As of March 2026, the portal has successfully processed over 41 lakh applications and facilitated more than ₹1.06 lakh crore loan applications which makes it India's most successful fintech interventions for social welfare.

  • End-to-End Digital Service: The entire process from checking eligibility to receiving digital approval is online. 
  • Automated Eligibility Check: Users can find the most suitable scheme by answering a few simple questions. The portal's "Rule Engine" automatically matches the user’s profile with the criteria of various government schemes.
  • Seamless Data Integration: To ensure speed and accuracy, the portal is integrated with several government databases:
    • Aadhaar & PAN: For instant identity and tax verification.
    • GSTN & Udyam: For business verification.
    • CBDT & CIBIL: To fetch income details and credit scores automatically.
  • Real-Time Tracking: The portal provides a dashboard to track the real-time status of loan applications and subsidy releases, no longer need to call bank managers for updates. 
  • Digital Marketplace for Lenders: Applicants can view offers from various banks such as SBI, HDFC, PNB etc., and choose the lender that offers the best terms, fostering a competitive and transparent environment.
  • Assisted Mode: For those not tech-savvy, the portal offers an "Assisted Mode" through Banking Correspondents (BCs), ensuring that the benefits of digital India reach the last mile.
