The University of Mumbai has rescheduled several third-year semester examinations after their dates overlapped with the State Common Entrance Test (CET) 2026. The decision was taken to ensure that students appearing for both the university exams and the state-level entrance exams do not face any scheduling conflicts. According to the official circular, the affected exams fall under multiple programs, which include:-
-
BA
-
B.Sc. Computer Science
-
BAMMC
-
BA (under the Centre for Distance and Online Education)
-
B.Com
These papers belong to Semester 5 of the third-year undergraduate courses. The exams were earlier scheduled between March 10 and March 17, 2026, but the university decided to revise the timetable after noticing the clash with the CET examination schedule.
Revised Exam Dates To Be Announced
Under the revised schedule, the B.Com (Choice Based) examination that was earlier set for March 27 will now be held on April 4, 2026. Meanwhile, the remaining third-year papers for BA, B.Sc, BSc (Computer Science), BAMMC and BA under CDOE have been shifted to dates between April 9 and April 15, 2026.
The notification was issued by the university’s Board of Examinations and Evaluation, which instructed principals of all affiliated colleges to inform students about the revised dates.
Changes Made for Semester 6 Exams
The CET schedule has also affected other examinations at the university. In a separate circular, the university revised the Semester 6 examination schedule across several programs. These exams were earlier scheduled to begin on April 1 and April 8, but they will now start on April 9 and April 16, 2026, respectively. The revised dates apply to a wide range of courses across the Commerce, Science and Arts streams, including various specialised B.Com programs and management courses.
Students are advised to check the updated timetable released by the University of Mumbai and stay in touch with their colleges for further announcements related to the examination schedule.
