Kashmir Summer Holidays 2026: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir, Government of Jammu and Kashmir has announced summer holidays in all schools of the Kashmir division. The directive, issued on June 30, 2026, applies to private and government schools in Classes up to Higher Secondary level (Class 12). This mandate prioritizes student health amid prevailing heatwave conditions in the district.
Kashmir School Holidays Date
The Director of School Education, Kashmir announced summer holidays for all schools from July 6 to July 19, 2026.
“Consequent upon the approval conveyed by the competent authority, it is hereby ordered that all the Government and recognized Private Schools up to Higher Secondary level functioning in the Kashmir Division shall observe summer vacation w.e.f 06.07.2026 to 19.07.2026”, the official notice stated.

Kashmir Temperature
According to BBC Weather, the lowest and highest temperature for Kashmir’s Srinagar today, July 1, 2026 will likely be between 18 and 31 degree Celsius. The weather forecast predicts the temperature to remain the same over the next few days with some likely rain showers.
Other State School Holidays
On July 16, it is expected that schools will remain closed in view of the Rath Yatra in several states including Delhi, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal. Several states such as Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh will observe holiday on July 29 in view of Guru Purnima.
Earlier, Patna had announced school holidays for two days in view of extreme heatwaves. DM Kundan Kumar issued the directive, ordering the closure of all schools in the district from June 29 to June 30, 2026.
