Due to a severe heatwave and warnings from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) that conditions will get worse from mid-May to June, school authorities in several states have announced long summer breaks for students. Temperatures in affected areas, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Telangana, have already exceeded 45°C.
As it gets really hot in Indian states the governments and school authorities have decided to give students a long summer break. This decision has been made for schools following CBSE, ICSE and private and government schools.The heatwave is expected to get worse. Thats why they are taking this step. The India Meteorological Department or IMD has warned that severe heatwave conditions are coming back to North and Central India.
The IMD says that in areas temperatures have already gone above 45 degrees Celsius. They also think that the heatwave conditions will get worse from mid-May, to June. Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana and Telangana are some of the states that are affected the most.The authorities are telling people to stay indoors during the part of the day.
They are especially asking children and senior citizens to avoid going out during peak afternoon hours. The government and school authorities are taking these steps to keep everyone from the heat. The summer break will help students stay safe and avoid the heatwave.
