NTA has announced that the NEET UG 2026 refund process for the cancelled May 3 exam will begin with the opening of a dedicated bank details submission website. Candidates appearing for the re-test on June 21 can now provide their account information at neet.nta.nic.in to claim their original registration fees.

In a major relief for all the medical aspirants, the National Testing Agency, NTA, has initiated the refund process for the NEET UG 2026 examination fees. This move follows the cancellation of the original May 3 exam due to widespread paper leak allegations and irregularities. As the agency prepared for the nationwide re-examination schedule for June 21, 2026, NTA has also clarified that no fresh fee will be charged for the re-test. Instead, the previous application fess which ranged from Rs. 1000 to Rs, 1700 for domestic candidates and Rs. 9500 for NRI applicants, will be fully reimbursed to eligible candidates.

Step-By-Step Guide to Submit Refund Details

To ensure a smooth transfer of the refund details, the NTA has activated a dedicated online module on its official website. Candidates must log in to the official website. Candidates have to log in to the website to provide accurate banking information:-

  • Visit the official NTA website at neet.nta.nic.in.
  • Log in using your original Application Number and Password.
  • Click on the link for Submission of Bank Details for fee refund.
  • Carefully enter the account holder’s name and bank account number, and the IFSC code. 
  • Review all details to prevent payment failures and submit the form.

National Testing Agency has also advised the students to use their own or their parents’ bank accounts to ensure the money reaches them directly. The refund process does not include bank processing charges or gateway fees. The re-test remains a high-stakes event with over 22 lakh candidates expected to appear.
