The NEET UG 2026 Exam has been intensified as the CBI have arrested five accused in connection with the alleged paper leak case. The Medical Entrance Exam was originally conducted on 3rd May 2026, but the National Testing Agency (NTA) later cancelled the exam citing concerns over the integrity of the process. The NTA officially announced on 12th May 2026 that the exam has been cancelled and all the candidates have to re-appear for the exam after multiple reports and investigative findings stated that the NEET UG 2026 paper was leaked before exam and most of the questions were from the “Guess Paper". The matter was subsequently handed over to CBI by the Government for a detailed and comprehensive probe. Investigators have reportedly uncovered links spread across several states which includes Rajasthan, Kerala, Haryana, Maharashtra and Uttrakhand.
Initial findings suggest that the leaked question paper was allegedly circulated in the form of a “guess paper” and sold to students for huge sums of money. The CBI is now conducting raids and questioning suspects to identify the masterminds behind the operation.
The cancellation has impacted nearly 23 lakh NEET aspirants across the country, leading to uncertainty among students awaiting the revised examination schedule.
