West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education, WBCHSE, has officially declared the West Bengal Class 12th Result 2026, displaying an impressive overall pass percentage of 91.23% marks. While over 5.7 lakh students celebrated their success today. The Board has also introduced a landmark change for those looking to increase their marks or save their academic year, i.e., the first-ever Improvement Exam Option. This new initiative by the board allows Class 12th students an opportunity to reappear for specific subjects to improve their marks if they are unsatisfied with their marks. Previously, students were only given the option of Scrutiny or Reviewing their marksheets.

Important Guidelines for the West Bengal HS Improvement Exam

Under the new rules, the Board has simplified the process for students who want to opt for the improvement exam:-

  • Candidates opting to take the improvement exam must surrender their original 2026 marksheet before appearing for the test.
  • The application process will be conducted online via the official  WBCHSE website. Dates for registration and the exam schedule are expected to be released shortly.
  • This year’s marksheet also features new security upgrades, including QR codes and student photographs to prevent any kind of fraud and simplify the verification process.

With the introduction of the improvement exam, the Board aims to reduce student stress and provide a second chance for academic excellence.
