The admission process for Class 11 for the academic year 2026–27 will commence on April 10 at 10am through the state’s centralised online system, the School Education Department has announced. This new process aims to make applying easier and more convenient for students and is part of the government’s 'Ease of Living' efforts. April 10th the process officially begins at 10 am. On this day, students can start filling out 'Part 1' of the admission form.
The Directorate of Education has decided to open up the Part 1 registration before the Class 10 results are announced in June. This step is designed to save valuable time and speed up the overall admission schedule. Only Part 2 of the form, where students choose their colleges and order of preference, will open later once the Class 10 results are officially out. Students from all educational backgrounds, including State Board, CBSE, ICSE, and others, are welcome to apply through this common online portal.
Process to Apply for the Two-Part Form
The Class 11 admission form is split into two main sections to make the process smoother and faster.
Part 1: Registration and Basic Information (Starts April 10)
This is the first step everyone needs to complete. You can start filling this part as early as April 10, even if your Class 10 results are not out yet.
- You will register on the official admission website. You will fill in all your personal details, contact information, and academic background up to Class 10.
- Starting Part 1 early helps save time. It ensures that all student data is collected and ready before the rush that follows the results announcement.
Part 2: College Selection and Preferences: Starts After Class 10 Results
This part is crucial as it involves choosing where you want to study.
- After the State Board announces the Class 10 results (expected in June), you will gain access to Part 2. Here, you will select the colleges you wish to attend and list them in your order of preference (your most desired college first).
- You need your Class 10 marks and grades to select colleges wisely, as admission is based on merit. Therefore, this part opens only after the results are declared.
Who Can Apply?
The online admission system is open to a wide range of students.
- Students who have taken the Class 10 exams from various boards are eligible. This includes students from the State Board, CBSE, ICSE, IGCSE, and other recognised education boards.
- Around 1.65 million students took the State Board Class 10 exams this year alone, meaning a very large number of applications are expected for Class 11 seats.
