Education Minister Pralhad Joshi Conducts Review Meeting of CBSE's Examination, Academic Process

Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi conducted a review meeting with senior officials of the Department of School Education and Literacy. The meting can conducted to review the key issues related to the Central Board of Secondary Education.
As per the post on social media, the meeting was convened to discuss key priorities for strengthening CBSE’s academic, examination and administrative process, focusing on greater efficiency, transparency and improved support for students and teachers.

The most important topic during the meeting, as per reports, was the examination system. The review is being conducted at a time when the CBSE has been introducing changes in the examination and answer sheet evaluation system. The board introduced the OSM (On Screen Marking) system this year for Class 12 students. The system boasted of using technology to evaluate the answer sheets, making the process of answer sheet evaluation smooth and error-free for students.
Officials, during the meeting, discussed the need to ensure that such systems work efficiently and do not create difficulties for students or teachers. Transparency of the examination and evaluation-related process was highlighted during the meeting.
Along with the examination system, the meeting also discussed the academic and administrative functioning of the board. The meeting has been convened at a time when the board has been facing the heat over the evaluation system for Class 12 students. The meeting focused primarily on improving the way the board navigates various responsibilities, making services more accessible to students.
Provisions may be introduced making the examination process smoother for students in the coming years. The discussions conducted are expected to bring about a few changes in the CBSE and its functioning.
