The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has introduced Corporate Mitra Scheme 2026 to build a network of trained and certified professionals who will help MSMEs in handling their business and regulatory compliance more easily. The scheme was announced as part of Union budget 2026-27. It aims to make it easier for businesses to meet legal requirements and supports the vision of building a Viksit Bharat. To make the scheme ready for implementation, the MCA formed a steering committee and regularly reviewed the progress with professional institutes such as ICAI, ICSI and ICoAI, along with IIT Madras. The ministry also helped finalise the scheme guidelines, official brochure and the Corporate Mitra logo.

The course has been designed as a practical and career-focused programme. It includes around 150 hours of online academic learning through expert-led sessions, followed by six months of on-the-job training with professional firms. Candidates who have successfully completed both the academic learning and practical training will receive the corporate mitra certification. The programme helps learners build practical knowledge in accounting taxation, banking financial management, legal and secretarial practices and cost-management accounting. This training prepares them to support business with day to day compliance and professional work.

Eligibility Criteria for Corporate Mitra Scheme 2026

The Corporate Mitra Scheme is open to Indian nationals up to 30 years of age. Applicants must either be graduates or students in the final year of graduation. This makes the scheme a valuable opportunity for young people who want to enter the professional services ecosystem and build practical skills that are in demand among small and medium businesses. The academic support for the course will be provided by ICAI, ICSI and ICoAI, while the learning modules will be delivered across the country through the Swayam Plus portal. A key step in the rollout was the signing of an MoU on 25 June 2026 between IIT Madras, IIT Pravartak, Swayam Plus, ICAI, ICSI and ICoAI.

Fees, Concessions and Registration Details

The fee for the Corporate Mitra course is Rs 3,000 plus GST. To make the programme more inclusive, a 50% fee concession will be given to women candidates and students from the North Eastern States, Himalayan Regions, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep. The MCA has said that the registration announcement will be made shortly. Once opened, candidates will be able to register through the official websites of MCA, Swayam Plus, ICAI, ICSI and ICoAI.

Overall, the Corporate Mitra Scheme 2026 is a promising step toward creating skilled professionals who can support MSMEs while also opening up meaningful career opportunities for India’s youth.
