CBSE XII Re-Evaluation: The Central Board of Secondary Education has issued a revised structure for class 12 candidates to submit their answer sheets for the re-evaluation process. The CBSE has revised the post-result facilities for students to make the process smooth.
The board saw itself in a new problem after many students, parents and teachers raised concerns over the OSM (On Screen Marking) process introduced for the Class 12 answer sheet evaluation from this year onwards. While the board states that this is the way of the board to ensure greater standardisation, accuracy, confidentiality, and expeditious processing of evaluation-related activities, it has caused significant trouble with reports of teachers facing problems during the evaluation process, even during the training phase.
The Board earlier issued a notification regarding the re-evaluation process on May 15, 2026. In this, the re-evaluation fee and the fee to obtain the answer sheet copies were marked significantly high, which caused problems for a majority of students who complained about the unaffordability of the process. Now, with a view to ensuring that any student who wishes to avail of the post result facilities should not be left behind, CBSE has reduced the applicable fees. Candidates can check the fee details below
| Activity | Timeline | Old Fee | Revised Fee |
| Obtaining Scanned Copy of Evaluated Answer Books | 19.05.2026 to 22.05.2026 | Rs. 700/ | Rs. 100/ |

| Re-Evaluation | Rs. 100 per question | Rs. 25 per question |
While addressing the issue in a press conference, Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Sanjay Kumar stated that students can now obtain the scanned copies of their answer sheets at a fee of Rs. 100, and the fee for re-evaluation has been reduced to Rs. 25 per question. It must also be noted that the board further plans to return the fee collected or re-evaluate a student's marks increase post-verification.
