With the release of the CBSE Class 12th results 2026, the Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE has highlighted its commitment to transparency by acknowledging that evaluation errors can happen. The Controller of Examination of CBSE, Sanyam Bhardwaj, has also stated that with over 1.25 crore answer sheets being evaluated, the board offers specific facilities to re-check any kind of discrepancies which were found during the marking phase. The re-checking and verification window will start from May 19, 2026, to May 22, 2026.

To maintain a fair evaluation system, the board has stipulated a timeline for all those students who believe that their performance was not satisfactory and accurately evaluated. The process for the revaluation is divided into two important application windows, which are as follows:-

  • Students can apply for the revaluation of the marksheet between May 19 and May 22, 2026. During this period, students may apply to receive scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets.
  • This stop is important to identify specific mistakes before filing an official challenge for the marks.
  • A secondary window for re-evaluation and reporting discrepancies will be made active from May 26 to May 29, 2026. During this period, students can request an expert panel review of specific answers.

While the CBSE Board admits concerns over the OSM Process, it also aims to correct any issues. The official authority of the board has also issued a clear reminder that the outcome of the re-checking process will be final. If the expert committee review finds that an error has led to a higher score, the marks will be updated immediately and accordingly. However, if in any case the correction reveals that a student has been over-marked, the scores will be reduced. Students are advised to compare their scanned answer sheets against the official marking very carefully.
