What is UP Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana 2026?

The UP Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana is launched by the Government of Uttar Pradesh to provide free training, enhance the skills of artisans, and provide financial assistance to carpenters, blacksmiths, barbers, tailors, basket weavers, goldsmiths, and potters. 

This scheme was launched in 2018, and this scheme was based on the Central PM Vishwakarma Scheme.

Objective

In India, there are many craftsmen who create functional and decorative items by hand. For making these items, they use traditional techniques and specialised tools.

So, the main objective of this scheme is to provide them with proper guidance and training sessions to enhance their skills in their artisan works 

Benefits

The benefits of the UP Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana are: 

  1. 6-day free residential skill training.

  2. ₹10,000 for an advanced toolkit.

  3. Provide concessional loans of ₹10,000 to ₹10 lakh via the UP Khadi and Village Industries Board (UPKVIB)

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for this scheme are:

  1. The applicant must be a traditional artisan who must belong to these 8 specific trades, which are:

    1. Carpenter (Badhayi)

    2. Blacksmith (Lohar)

    3. Barber (Hajamat)

    4. Tailor (Darji)

    5. Cobbler (Mochi)

    6. Basket Weaver (Bunkar)

    7. Goldsmith (Sonar)

    8. Potter (Kumhar)

  2. Permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh.

  3. The minimum age of the applicant must be 18 years.

  4. Applicant must be practising these trades as primary or secondary ways.

  5. There is no qualification.

  6. Priority is given to the OBC, SC/ST, minorities and economically weaker sections.

  1. Aadhaar Card

  2. Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC where it is applicable)

  3. Bank Passbook (Aadhaar-linked for loan/subsidy credit)

  4. UP Domicile Certificate

  5. Proof of trade profession

  6. Passport-size photograph

  7. Mobile number linked with Aadhaar

How to Apply for the UP Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana 2026?

To apply for the UP Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana 2026, applicants must follow these steps:

  1. First, visit the official portal of UP Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana (https://www.diupmsme.upsdc.gov.in/)

  2. Click on the new registration on the UP Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana home page.

  3. Fill out the application with your applicant names, date of birth, father’s name, and Aadhaar number.

  4. Choose your traditional trade: carpenter (badhayi), blacksmith, barber, tailor, cobbler, basket weaver, goldsmith, and potter.

  5. Upload your caste, domicile, income, and bank account details.

  6. Submit your application. You will receive an Application ID. Keep it safe.

  7. After the completion of the form, the District Industries Centre will verify all the details, and there will be an inspection by an officer.

  8. If all the information is found correct, the applicant will be selected for the 6-day free training. (Food and Housing will be provided by the UP Government)

  9. After completing the 6-day free training, ₹10,000 will be provided for an advanced toolkit, and the process of the UPKVIB loan will start.
