On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan 2026, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has highlighted the government’s focus on the safety, dignity and self-reliance of women and girls. The biggest immediate benefit for women this Raksha Bandhan is free bus travel from August 27 to August 29, 2026.
The Uttar Pradesh Government said that the free bus travel facility for mothers and sisters, which was started in 2017 on Raksha Bandhan, will continue this year as well.

Free Bus Travel for Women from August 27 to 29
The Uttar Pradesh Govt has the most direct Raksha Bandhan benefit which is, free bus travel for women.

This will be offered for three days. The dates are August 27, August 28 and August 29, 2026.
