After the NEET UG 2026 paper leak and exam cancellation, FAIMA and UDF have approached the Supreme Court seeking major reforms in NTA.Read the article to know their demands.
The NEET UG 2026 paper leak has become one of the biggest education controversies in India. After the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test was held on May 3, 2026 and was cancelled on May 12, 2026 as per reports of a question paper leak. Now the Supreme Court is set to hear pleas filed by the Federation of Indian Medical Association and United Doctors’ Front both of which have called the issue a serious failure in the National Testing Agency system. The matter gained more attention after Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said he takes responsibility for the stress and mental pain faced by nearly 22 lakh NEET applicants and admitted that the exam had been compromised.
FAIMA Demands Focus on Transparency and Strong Exam Security
Federation of Indian Medical Association (FAIMA) has asked the Supreme Court to take immediate steps to make the re-examination process safe, transparent and trustworthy. One of its key demands is the appointment of a high-powered monitoring committee. According to FAIMA this committee should include a retired Supreme Court judge, a cybersecurity expert, and a forensic scientist. The aim is to supervise the fresh conduct of NEET UG 2026 and stop any further leak or misuse.
FAIMA has also asked for the re-conduct of the exam only after the revised system is checked and certified as secure. Another major demand is the use of digital locking of question papers and a shift to a computer-based test model. This is being suggested to remove the risks linked to the physical handling and movement of exam papers.
Along with this FAIMA wants the CBI to submit a status report within four weeks on the investigation into the NEET UG 2026 paper leak. The report should include details about the leak network, arrests, charges and prosecution progress. It has also requested that centre-wise results be published whenever available so that unusual patterns or result anomalies can be identified more easily.

UDF Calls for a New National Testing Body and Court-Monitored Transition
The United Doctors Front has taken a broader stand by asking for structural change in the NEET exam system. UDF wants Parliament to establish a new statutory national testing body that has proper legal powers, clear transparency rules, and direct accountability to the legislature. This means the organisation conducting national entrance exams should not only be stronger but also more answerable in law.
UDF has also requested the Supreme Court to appoint a court-monitored committee for the transition of upcoming national examinations. The purpose is to ensure “zero-leak” integrity in future exams and rebuild student confidence. This demand reflects a growing concern that temporary fixes may not be enough if the basic exam system is not rebuilt.
The NEET UG 2026 paper leak case is now bigger than just one cancelled examination. It has opened a national debate on exam security, student trust and the future of entrance testing in India. With the Supreme Court hearing these pleas the coming days could shape major reforms in how high stakes exams are conducted across the country.
