KCET 2026 Round 3: Fresh Option Entry Was Mandatory
One of the important changes for Round 3 was that candidates had to enter their choices afresh. Preferences submitted during earlier counselling rounds were not automatically carried forward.
The option-entry window opened on August 31, 2026, and closed at 6 PM on September 3, 2026. Candidates could add, delete or rearrange their preferred college-course combinations during the window. Candidates were advised to carefully arrange their preferences because the choices entered in Round 3 would be considered for seat allotment.

Who Could Participate in KCET Round 3?
Candidates who were not allotted a seat in Round 2, as well as certain candidates who cancelled their allotted seats after following the applicable rules, were eligible to participate in Round 3.
Candidates who had accepted their Round 2 allotment and wanted an upgrade were also provided a separate option-entry window. However, KEA had specified eligibility conditions for candidates from previous rounds.
