JoSAA Counselling 2026: What Students Should Know Before Filling Choices
JoSAA 2026 is handling admissions for 138 institutes this year. These include 23 IITs, IISc Bengaluru, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs, and 56 other GFTIs. This means students should not rush their choices only based on popular branch names. Students must also compare course content wise, career scope, institute reputation and their own personal interest before confirming their preferences. Admission to IITs and IISc is based on JEE advanced 2026 rank while admission in NIT+ system depends on JEE Mains 2026 rank. As the counseling has already started candidates must carefully check the programme list, understand eligibility rules and fill choices in correct order.
