RRB Technician Syllabus 2026: Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has officially released the notification for RRB Technician Recruitment 2026, under CEN No. 02/2026 on 30th 2026. A total of 6,557 vacancies are announced for Technician Grade 1 Signal (323 posts) and Technician Grade 3 posts. The selection process consists of three stages, Computer-Based Test (CBT), Document Verification, and Medical Examination. It becomes easier for the candidates to prepare themselves after knowing the complete RRB Technician syllabus, which helps candidates plan their preparation and focus on the exam. 

RRB Technician Syllabus 2026

The syllabus of RRB Technician is different for Grade 1 and Grade 3 posts. The subjects included in the syllabus for Grade 1 Signal include General Awareness, General Intelligence & Reasoning, Basics of Computers & Application, Mathematics, and Basic Science & Engineering. Grade 3 includes Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness without Engineering. In the Computer-Based Test, there will be 100 multiple-choice questions for 90 minutes duration with 1/3 negative marking for each incorrect answer.

RRB Technician Exam Pattern 2026

The RRB Technician exam is held in Computer-Based Test mode, comprising objective-type MCQs. The exam pattern for Grade 1 Signal & Grade 3 posts is different from each other. In the CBT Exam, there are 100 questions for a total of 100 marks, to be solved within 90 minutes. For every incorrect response, there would be a negative marking of 1/3 marks.

RRB Technician Syllabus 2026: Grade-wise 

The syllabus for RRB Technician Grade 1 and 3 varies mainly in the subject sections. Grade 1 has the subject of Signal along with Basic Science & Engineering and Computer Applications, whereas Grade 3 has the subject of General Science. Both grades have Mathematics and General Intelligence & Reasoning, which contain almost the same topics. The Grade 3 question paper is of class 10 level, whereas that of Grade 1 is of class 12 level, since Grade 1 requires more qualifying education than Grade 3.
