Maharashtra TET Paper Leak 2026 LIVE: Exam To Be Conducted Online Starting Next Year, New Dates Soon

Maharashtra government has decided to conduct the TET online from next year following the paper leak, and will constitute a committee to prepare the implementation plan, news agency reports. 

On the TET paper leak, Congress leader Amit V. Deshmukh says, “Paper leak now is not new… We don’t understand what the administration is doing… I think it is a failure at various levels and the common man is suffering because of this. Opposition has always raised this issue in the Parliament, in the Assembly, on the streets, but even then there is no improvement…” 

The SIT investigation into the Maharashtra TET 2026 exam leak is underway. The mastermind of the paper leak has been identified as a resident of Bihar. Another key accused belongs to Haryana. The SIT is continuing its probe, and efforts to nab the accused are underway: SIT sources to ANI.

On the TET paper leak, Congress leader Bhai Jagtap says, “We raised an issue about higher education just some days earlier, where there was one particular director of National College, who was involved in this… Now, he has been booked under that offence by the Police. NEET was connected with the future of the students and the young generation… Now, the teachers who were supposed to teach the children are totally taken for granted. TET question paper was leaked…” 

On Teacher Eligibility Test in Maharashtra postponed after paper leak, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam said, " I am grateful to the Maharashtra government for discovering the paper leak before the exam even began... The bigger issue is that a massive paper-leak mafia is operating across the country... Coaching institutes are running a paper-leak racket. I urge the government to take this entire matter seriously and enact strict laws from Delhi to Mumbai to ensure no one dares to leak papers in the future..." 

The Maharashtra Assembly erupted in chaos as Opposition MLAs staged a massive protest and walked out of the House over the recurring Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2026 paper leak. Accusing the government of ruining students' futures, leaders demanded an immediate discussion and a comprehensive probe into the interstate examination racket. 

Candidates can expect the TET 2026 examination to be conducted at the end of July, 2026, while no official date has been confirmed by the council.

A First Information Report (FIR) was registered against the individuals and the paper was called off to ensure a thorough probe. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) have uncovered that the mastermind of the paper leak is a resident of Bihar with another key accused belonging to Haryana, according to news agency Asian News International (ANI).

Over 4 lakh candidates registered for the examination and are not awaiting new exam dates to be released soon by the Maharashtra State Council of Examinations (MSCE).

In a latest update, the mastermind has been identified as a resident of Bihar with another key accused belonging from Haryana. MSCE officials were called for an investigation who verified that the individuals had access to some of the TET 2026 exam questions.
