UPSC NDA & NA (I) 2026 Notification is released for 394 posts, eligible appearing/12th passed candidates can apply online. The final application deadline is 30 December 2025 and the written exam will take place on 12 April 2026.
Recruitment is done through the Army, Navy, Air Force and Naval Academy route under 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme. A total of 370 male and 24 female candidates are to be recruited.
Eligibility for UPSC NDA 2026 Candidates
Students born between 2007 and 2010 are eligible and should be unmarried. Candidates should be passed or appear in Class 12. Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics is compulsory for Navy, Air Force, and Naval Academy, and Students appearing in Class 12 may also apply if they submit proof of being passed out on time.
The age for the candidates is between 16.5 and 19.5 years as on 1 July 2027. The fee for the application is Rs. Male candidates (general/OCB) pay Rs.100, Female candidates and SC/ST candidates are exempt from paying the fee.
UPSC NDA 2026 Selection Process
The selection process consists of 3 parts; Written Test, SSB interview, Medical Test. There are objective questions in the written test, and the test has negative marking for incorrect answers.
It is one of the key entrance routes for the students who wish to join the Indian Armed Forces soon after school. It is a direct route to the officer training courses of the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy, thus being a big opportunity for defence aspirants of Class 12th.
