The Ministry of Education announced President Murmu’s interaction in a post on X, stating that the programme will be held on August 28, 2026. The interaction will bring together students and teachers from government schools across the country as part of the Raksha Bandhan celebrations.
"On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, will interact with students and teachers from government schools across the country at Rashtrapati Bhavan," the post stated.
According to the Ministry, the programme will provide an opportunity to celebrate the bond of affection and togetherness associated with Raksha Bandhan while encouraging a sense of unity among students from different regions and backgrounds.
The initiative will also highlight the idea of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’, with students from diverse backgrounds coming together at the Rashtrapati Bhavan for the interaction with the President.

PM Modi To Interact With Students Ahead Of National Sports Day
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with students and young people on August 27 through an online conference as part of the Khelo India Dialogue, ahead of National Sports Day on August 29. The programme will bring students closer to Indian athletes and medal winners through discussions on sports, youth leadership and their aspirations for a developed India.
A key component of the programme will be ‘Yuva Samwad’, where students will get an opportunity to share their ideas, perspectives and aspirations. The discussions will cover themes including Olympic aspirations, youth leadership, Viksit Bharat and the role of sports in building a healthier and more engaged generation.
The programme will also focus on the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva’ movement, which seeks to use sports and peer networks to create awareness about substance abuse among young people. The campaign will be supported through weekly Jan Bhagidari activities as part of the Prime Minister’s 100-week nationwide campaign, launched on August 2, 2026.
The two programmes reflect the government’s continued focus on engaging directly with students and young people through platforms that encourage participation, dialogue and the sharing of ideas.
