NEET UG Exam 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an official advisory regarding the dress code and permissible items for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026. The exam is scheduled to be held on May 3, 2026. Students are advised to keep the following guidelines in mind while appearing for the exam.

NEET UG Exam 2026: Instructions for Candidates

Candidates taking the exam should keep the following rules in mind:

  • Water Bottles: You can bring a transparent water bottle. Only clear bottles are allowed.
  • Articles of Faith: If you wear any religious articles or objects (like a Kirpan, a Kara, or a cross), you are allowed to wear them. However, you must arrive at the examination centre early so that a thorough security check (frisking) can be done without delaying the examination.
  • Clothing:
    • It is best to wear light clothes.
    • If you need to wear full sleeves or warm clothes (woollens), you can do so, but you must report to the centre early for the security check (frisking) of your clothing.
  • Footwear: The recommended footwear is slippers or low-heeled shoes. High heels are not permitted.

Students are advised to carry their transparent water bottle and suitable footwear ready. Candidates should aim to arrive at the centre at least one hour before the gate closes. This is advised to ensure a smooth security check process and prevent unnecessary stress.
