IAF to Handle NEET Question Paper Transport for the First Time
Abhishek Singh said that, for the first time, the Indian Air Force will be entrusted with the transportation of NEET question papers. The move reflects the seriousness with which authorities are approaching the conduct of one of the country’s most important entrance examinations. According to a state government release, the step is aimed at preserving the integrity and security of the examination process through enhanced protection measures.
The announcement comes as preparations for the June 21 examination gather pace in Telangana. During the review meeting, Singh discussed the arrangements with top state officials and stressed the need for high-level security protocols. The decision to involve the IAF is being seen as a significant development in the effort to ensure that question papers are handled in a completely secure manner from transit to delivery.
Telangana Prepares for 73,000 Students Across 208 Exam Centres
Telangana Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao has directed officials to make foolproof arrangements for the exam and ensure that candidates face no difficulty on the day of the test. He asked district authorities to coordinate closely with all concerned departments so that students can appear for the examination in a hassle free environment.
State Principal Secretary (Health) Christina Z. Chongthu said around 73,000 students are expected to take the NEET exam in Telangana. The test will be conducted at 208 examination centres spread across 24 cities in the state. Given the large number of candidates and centres, the government is putting in place all essential support systems, including infrastructure, transportation, security, uninterrupted power supply, and basic facilities such as drinking water.
State DG (Law and Order) Mahesh Bhagwat also underlined the need for close coordination between the police department and district administration.
He instructed officials of police to enforce strict security measures at exam centers and maintain constant vigilance throughout the process. Bhagwat further warned officials about the risk of rumours and misinformation during the examination period.
