IIT Bombay Announces UCEED and CEED 2027 Exam Dates
In an official notification issued on May 25, 2026, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay announced that the UCEED 2027 and CEED 2027 examinations will be conducted on Sunday, January 17, 2027. Serving as the centralized screening gateways for premium design programs across the country, both national-level tests will run concurrently in a single shift across all designated test cities.
The dates for CEED and UCEED 2027 have been officially declared by IIT Bombay. Both examinations, which are design entrance examinations, will take place on the same day, i.e., January 17, 2027. Information about the examination like registration dates, eligibility, and other important details are expected to be published on October 1, 2026, through an information bulletin.

What is the Purpose of UCEED?
UCEED stands for Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design. It is conducted for admission to undergraduate programmes like BDes from participating institutions such as IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Roorkee, and IIITDM Jabalpur.
Eligibility for UCEED
UCEED is a test conducted for admissions to undergraduate programs in design. Applicants need to qualify in Class 12 or equivalent examination in the year 2026 or 2027 for the first time.
The criteria for age limit for the general category applicant is that he should be born on or after October 1, 2002, and for SC, ST, and PwD applicants, there is a concession of 5 years; hence they should be born on or after October 1, 1997.
Applicants will get only two chances to appear for UCEED consecutively.
Eligibility for CEED
CEED is a test conducted for postgraduate admissions in design. Applicants should have obtained a degree, diploma, or postgraduate course in three years after Class 12 or should be in the final year of the course.
There is no age limit for CEED.
