The HPBOSE confirmed that a forensic investigation proved the tampering of Class 10 answer sheets during the March 2025 matriculation exams, following complaints from nine students. To protect the affected students, HPBOSE will award compensatory marks for the compromised questions. The evidence has been forwarded to the Education Department to ensure accountability and improve future examination security.

The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has confirmed a case of cheating during the Class 10 board exams. After an investigation the board found that some students' answer sheets were altered during the March 2025 matriculation exams. To protect the students academic future the board will give marks to those affected.

Forensic Investigation Unearths Manipulation in Class 10 Answer Sheets

The issue started when nine students from Government High School, Jeora complained about irregularities in their multiple-choice questions. They said that the options they had marked during the exam seemed to have been changed

The board then called the students to its headquarters in Dharamshala to verify their answer sheets. Experts checked the sheets. Sent them to the Regional Forensic Science Laboratory (RFSL) Dharamshala, which proved that the papers had been tampered with.

HPBOSE Acts Promptly for Protection of Student Merit

Commenting on the lapse on the part of the board, HPBOSE Chairman, Mr. Rajesh said that the students are not responsible for the irregularity. He emphasized that the boards top priority is to protect the students academic interests and prevent any impact on their final percentages.

The board has decided to give extra marks for the compromised questions. The investigation. Forensic evidence have been sent to the Education Department to hold people accountable and improve examination security, for future exams.
