UPSC Prelims 2026 Exam Shift Timings
The UPSC will conduct the Prelims exam in two shifts, where GS paper will be conducted in Shift 1 and CSAT will be held in shift 2. Candidates who are appearing for the examination can check the detailed schedule in the table below:

UPSC Prelims 2026 Reporting Time
Candidates are advised to reach the exam venue at least 1 hour before the exam starts. Reaching the examination centre early is suggested to avoid last minute hassles and to easily go through all the security checks and formalities that are being conducted at the examination centre.

UPSC CSE Prelims 2026 Exam Mode
The UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2026 will be conducted in Offline mode (Paper-Pen & OMR). Candidates will mark their answers on an OMR answer sheet provided at the test centre. The exam consists of objective-type questions and will be held for 2 hours duration for each paper.
